“To love someone is not first to do things for them, but to reveal to them their inner beauty and value, to say to them through our attitude: “You are beautiful. You are important. I trust you. You can trust yourself.” (Page 16)
I believe this is what Christ does for us – this is how the Divine loves us. I believe that God yearns to have us see and claim our inner beauty – after all, God created the beauty that is you with intention! (what artist doesn’t want their work noticed?)
I wonder, can you imagine the voice of God saying to you, “You are beautiful, you are important”? Even still, can you imagine the Holy One whispering to you, “I trust you and you can trust yourself’? Can you accept at the core of your being that God sees you as you truly are and delights in you?
Sit very still for a moment, quiet yourself and imagine the Divine saying these things directly to you. How does it feel? Today, will you allow the Divine Presence to reveal the beauty that the Holy One sees in you, the beauty and value that God intentionally created in you?
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Because you are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you. (Isaiah 43:1,4)
