Parish Life
Parish Camp is held at the Diocesan retreat center Chapel Rock each year. Always held the weekend after Easter, it is an opportunity for St. Stephen's to relax and play together. The only activities planned for the weekend are meals and Holy Eucharist.
Parish Camp weekend is intended to be an opportunity for all, (families, singles, young, elderly) to have the opportunity to get to know one another at a different level than what occurs on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Set in the pines of Prescott, AZ the camp offers both dormitory and hotel style lodging, a community dining hall, hiking trails, and close proximity to antiquing, shopping, and more.
Look about you and
you will find
people reading,
putting puzzles
together, playing
softball, table
games, organizing a
trip to "the Tubs",
napping, and
sharing. Children
run free (within
limits) and are able
to roll in the
grass, rock climb,
play hide and seek,
and just be free.
Often there is a camp fire on Saturday evening, complete with roasting marshmallows, or "marshmallow peeps" that are then eaten or turned into S'mores.
Parish Camp has been a tradition at St. Stephen's since the late 1970's. Ask someone to share their experience at Parish Camp. Plan to join us!
