Outreach
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

Episcopal Habitat Coalition: In 1998, the men’s group at Christ Church of the Ascension had some outreach money left over from a building project and decided to solicit other Episcopal Churches in the valley to see if there was interest in building with Habitat. That fall the Coalition was formed with about 6 churches and we completed our first house in South Ranch of Phoenix. Since that time the Episcopal Habitat Coalition has incorporated as a 501 c 3 corporation, several churches have been added and have dropped from the collation and we have continually supported the Habitat ministry. On October 18, we started construction of our 18th local house, and our 38th world wide house. This effort has provided clean safe shelter for over 133 people on 3 continents.
