LENTEN SOUP & SUPPER: When an expert in the law asked Jesus for the greatest commandment, Jesus responded with the Shema, the ancient Jewish creed that commands Israel to love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength. But the next part of Jesus' answer would change the course of history. Jesus amended the Shema, giving his followers a new creed for life. This Lent we will be studying this new creed for life, "The Jesus Creed". Join us for Fellowship and a delicious soup dinner beginning at 5:45pm - Program (DVD and discussion) will begin at 6:30pm and we will conclude by 7:30pm.

What: St. Stephen's Discovery Series
When: Sunday evenings April 23-May 28, 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Fredrickson Hall
Who: All are welcome!
St. Stephen's Discovery Series is designed to help folks to discover their own path to more full participation in the life of our faith community. This 6-week series is open to newcomers, visitors and life-long Episcopalians who wish to learn more about what we believe, how and why worship the way we do, and how as Episcopalians, we live into the Jesus movement. The series will be held on Sunday evenings, 5:30-7:30pm beginning Sunday April 23rd and concluding May 28th.
Over six weeks the St. Stephen's Discovery Series will explore:
Episcopal Worship Focus: history, traditions and unique practices of the Episcopal Church
A Journey of Faith Focus: Understanding the basics of Christianity - not only what we believe, but why we believe - the importance of the Baptismal Covenant and the Great Commandment
A Path to Spiritual Maturity Focus: rule of life and exploration of how our faith is a living, growing part of us that changes through our experiences - prayer, bible study and action
Our Spiritual Gifts Focus: provides a perspective for how God wants us to live our lives - looking at our God-given talents, our personality and our experiences and the importance of personal involvement in ministry, both in and beyond the congregation.
The Great Commission Focus: living lives that speak to the Good News of God's love for the world.
We will celebrate the conclusion of the series during Sunday Worship on Pentecost, June 4th. Materials will be provided and light refreshments will be served at each session. Cost for the series is $10. Click here to register.
